Lol. Unlimited PTO is the worst. You should not consider it a benefit
You sweet summer child
In general unlimited PTO is a bad thing... people generally take less time off at places with unlimited PTO

I’ve taken more than ever before this year. 🤷♀️
I’ve taken about the same. People who aren’t taking any are cowards.
It’s a great benefit, you can take off for months at a time and no one at EY cares!
Providing some actual insight here. You get around 20 days off each year, mandatory. If you take a few Fridays off, extend summer or winter breaks by a few days, and maybe take a week off during the year, you’ll have a lot of time off. They took away your ability to accrue and get a payout if you were to leave, but they raised the bar to make sure you get at least those 20 days

Unless you work in deals. Then all bets are off...
Don’t pay any mind to the idiots saying it’s bad. The only difference now is that you don’t have to check your balance. Your leadership expects you to take vacation at some point, you just can’t give them 24h notice for a 1-2wk vacation and expect them not to get upset. Ppl act like straight children here sometimes.
Couldn’t agree more on all counts

Well, they did say this would be perceived as a benefit and bring people in…

Yes! They’re moldable!
I know on paper it seems like a bad thing, but I have yet to not get approval for taking days off. It’s certainly a method for reducing cost to the firm, but I do believe that taking time off is about as easy as it used to be. That is, lots of pressure not to, but people are generally accepting
I used to work at a startup that had unlimited PTO and made sure to take a reasonable amount of time off! I’ll be new to consulting so wanted to know if there are major caveats in the consulting world around unlimited PTO esp with all I hear around utilization and billables. Good to know most managers are generally reasonable about it (I also wouldn’t be a dick to my team and take it at the cost of the team’s workload).
Hahahaha
The best thing about it is there’s no panic-PTO surge right before the rollovers expire, how it used to be.
People who take vacations get them and don’t have the anxiety thinking of running out of allotment.
For those that think it is a good thing, feel free to google Netflix unlimited vacation story where it got so bad with people not taking vacation that they had to revert the policy
They just ran an analysis in the amount of vacation being taken is almost equal to before flex vacation… It’s a little bit higher but not by much. So long story short everyone complaining that no one would take vacation was worried about nothing.
I enjoy it but it’s highly team dependent. Last engagement I was forced to take vacation because my team thought i was going to burn out. But I haven’t had an issue yet. No one really cares as long as you plan ahead and there is coverage for missed work
It’s a Myth !!! Don’t fall for it.
Base ur decision on everything else, not just this “Unlimited PTO”
Dont know
