How would you go about applying to a firm when you’ve only been at your current firm for about three months? I don’t necessarily hate my current firm, but I don’t love the work and want to try something else. Do I leave my current firm off the resume?

Leave it on. But I recommend waiting out a year at your firm. If you still want to make a move then then go for it. Unless you’re seeing an opening for your dream role right now.

I’ve only had one job out of law school that I was at for two years, then move to a new firm, so not really two jumps unless I leave the current role

Agree with the others. Looks suspicious to leave it off, but it’s also not a good look to be trying to leave so soon after joining. Include it no matter what, but try to stick it out longer.

Seems shady to leave it off.

If your resume doesn’t read that you’re a job hopper, then leave. It’s going to look bad but most hiring managers can put two and two together to understand it’s not a fit for you where you’re at and you’ll need to reinforce that if you get any call backs/interviews. The other thing will be if you’re again trying something new because they may think you’re just going to jump ship again if you don’t like it. So again, will need some explanation to lessen that blow for potential employers. But do not leave it off your resume especially if you’re on a firm website or your information is on the Bar’s website. Plus, people talk. Most employers will find out anyway then you’ll definitely look weird for leaving it off.

Good luck!

Don't jump that early unless it's Bad. Short tenures look bad if you aren't jumping to something better
