Bro I just had 7 interviews and they just sent me an email saying I’d have final round of conversations next week. I’m like 😳
That sounds like an organization that would hire someone but they're just hesitant. It probably has nothing to do with the candidates, it's more like they're worried about the economy. A lot of business reporting lately has touched upon how hiring has just slowed down or stalled. The scenario you're describing sounds like they're slow walking things until they're more confident of how things are going.
Be that as it may business is a lot slower in certain companies it really just depends on the clients you have, the reputation of the company, and of course the quality of work the company can provide. And if it’s a small tax office vs a medium one the medium one may be picker than the small one. The small one probably has barely anyone interested in working there. But I feel like personally just because they’re hiring doesn’t mean they’re going to hire right now. Companies do that all of the time. They get who they can and when their search doesn’t meet their expectation they play the slow hiring game where they tell you to hold your breath but not for too long! Apply elsewhere. They’re most likely not going to call you back if the recruiter said that right after.
They don't love you but want to keep you warm as they think you can do the job. You are the back-up right now.
