PwC A recruiter from PWC reached out to me to ask if I’d consider a different office the one I applied to, since it’s full. It would be Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Denver, San Francisco or San Jose. MSA candidate. Is there a fully remote option? Do you have to be in the office all the time? Is the compensation high at PWC? Is there a possible moving expenses? Any insight or advice would help me make a decision. Thank you!

You’ll be amazed how fast that first year flies by, don’t let that scare you off if you are otherwise interested.
I have never heard of this. I'd consider it a bit of a red flag. Have you talked to current employees about quality of management, work life balance, etc?
This seems like a big red flag to me. I can understand sign up bonuses, but this almost makes it seem like they are a bad place to work using financial means to pressure people into sticking through whatever.
There is no bonus. They want me to pay 12,000 if I leave in my first year
Are they paying for a visa or something?
Please don’t accept it! My younger brother ran into situations like this and ended up with an offer for $140k at a computer engineering firm. Keep applying and networking.
I will be on OPT so no. They are giving me initial training for 4 weeks tho and hence are trying to justify the 12,000 dollar penalty.
Seems steep. But given that’s the only offer you have....maybe you can try to negotiate it down? Otherwise, just grind it out for a year and move on
That seems steep if f it isn’t a bonus or covering visa processing costs. I’m not familiar with Antra so couldn’t say if it’s worth it
One year is short time for a career especially when it’s your first job. Unless you really don’t like the people and fit you should really consider it given your other prospects.
Not to mention, how would they ever collect it? Your last paycheck is all that they could 'garnish.'
I think you should stay away.
Here’s my roadmap for you. Take it. Learn everything they use and apply. Use your first year to figure out adjacent areas in your domain that are projected to be in demand. Learn everything in that domain through self study. Demand the role and the salary you deserve at that point with your next employer. Repeat the cycle a few times until you find your dream job and compensation package. Also, don’t forget the side gigs that you can pick up along the way.
The offer seems low for that type of stipulation to be attached
Is it normal for consulting companies to have such a penalty?
I have to pay out my bonus if I quit within the first year
Wait on another offer to compare it to lol
Have you tried the big consulting shops? They are oversold so bad that they might extend offer to CS grads. They have a signing bonus that has a clawback but you’ll enjoy a higher base.
hey I was wondering if you ever accepted the job cuz I got one from them too
Is the penalty your only blocker? If yes, take the job. After college, a lot depends on what we do with the job we get. Focus on getting the experience.
Could you please point me to Antra’s website? Also what technologies are they training you on?
Opportunity seldom comes. If this the only opportunity and you seriously think it will help you. Ask yourself, would I work here for the next year or two. If the answer is ,Yes,, then what's the issue. Now , if you do find a better job, an employer who wants you, tell them you situation, ask them for 12k joining fee.
