I am considering switching from MM FDD in LCOL to PwC FDD in Chicago. Am I stupid for doing this? Anyone know about office culture?

Do it. I switched to PwC from a MM firm. More hours but bigger deals, more pay, and more brand recognition for exit ops. Working with larger clients and banks as well.

like

SA1, how many hours on average are you working? Factoring the outliers and slow weeks?

How do you like your current office? What is your title?

Supervisor and would take a step back to Senior. Current office is fully remote so pretty much no culture. I’d like to meet some of the people I work with.

Looks like a good move to me. PwC is top dog for FDD for a multitude of reasons

idk tbh KPMG had a great NYC presence too,

EY seemed strong in SF

pwc is crushing boston?

idk that’s just my vibe

It will be better experience and potentially more pay but also more cut throat. Be ready to meet some big egos.

Having spent multiple years in MM and big 4 environments, big 4 has way more jerks and hardos. People who are just not nice and make your life harder than it needs to be with made up internal deadlines, non value add analyses, cherry picking knits in your work and making them a huge deal, etc. The politics at big 4 are insane too once you get to senior manager. The MM is just way more chill.

Hi there -
I applied to an experienced consultant position at Bain and just heard back. Yesterday, I received an invite to a HireVue one-way interview to complete. Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. Can anybody offer some insight into each of these/the process?

I work as in house counsel, and a lot of the employees are not qualified for their position and don’t understand legal/compliance even though they’ve been trained and should be competent enough to understand. I am constantly cleaning up messes and repeating myself and teaching rudimentary skills to the same people every day. Does anybody else feel like this or have advice on how to get through to those difficult people?

2. Is their any disadvantage between A&M FDD compared to B4 FDD in terms of exit ops down the road? Trying to look 5 years down the line
