I work as in house counsel, and a lot of the employees are not qualified for their position and don’t understand legal/compliance even though they’ve been trained and should be competent enough to understand. I am constantly cleaning up messes and repeating myself and teaching rudimentary skills to the same people every day. Does anybody else feel like this or have advice on how to get through to those difficult people?

Are you referring to non-legal employees? Because yes. There are certain very basic concepts I have to reiterate on almost every single call multiple times a week. It’s just part of the job. In fact it might be most of it.

I don’t think it’s that they don’t understand. They simply do not care. They think we slow them down or prevent them from doing what they want.

like

THIS. No desire to intake this knowledge no matter how often we tell them

like

Think of it this way - if people didn’t act like this corps would need way fewer lawyers and your ability to clean up messes would be less valuable.

like

Yes agreed, and corps hate spending money on lawyers unfortunately 🤣

I’ve recently left the world of consulting and joined a tech startup and my role is to build partnerships with consulting companies and SIs. My working hypothesis is that referral bonuses won’t be enough of an incentive in formalizing a partnership with the likes of Deloitte Digital. You all make your money on implementation but our product is pretty simple right now and easy to implement. How else can startups create relationships with you? We want referrals & for you tell clients about us.

Would anyone be interested in having their content creation automated?

I’ve been able to automate Pinterest graphic creation, create TikTok videos w/cover and royalty music on demand.

I can automate way more. I primarily help content creators make passive income through content automation, evergreen traffic, and paid digital products.

I’m looking for a job, contract/freelancing, really open to anything.

Beyond content automation, I can automate a lot of processes.

Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?

Newly in-house. Apparently, it was bad to offer my opinion that slightly differed from the managers, even though I was invited by said manager to review their suggestion with an internal client.
