You won’t get an upgrade on a transatlantic or transpacific delta metal flight either unless you use Global Upgrade Certificates. I’d go with AA and perhaps post on here asking if anyone has any extra AA SWUs, particularly if your flight is closer to mid-year when a bunch of SWUs will be expiring
This. You don't get free upgrades on international flights. That being said, I'd stick with Delta and one stop for the miles (as you have status) and fact that AA is the worst to deal with (granted international flights do improve AA experience).
I did find on AF that cash upgrades (Paris->ORD) were much cheaper than they’d be in the US. I think I paid $350 for business?
My question is more if I am eligible. It’s seems that sky team airlines don’t consider delta status for seat upgrades. It’s a bit of surprise for me - United was different

Highly unlikely to get upgraded purely on the basis of your status. The only time this happens is if economy is sold out
