I am assuming you are going to
Delhi from United States.
If safety is the biggest concern, avoid over crowded places like sarojini nagar, Chandani chowk, jama masjid etc.
I would suggest for 3 days, you can start with a tour of lotus temple, Qutub minar, akshardham, the garden of 5 senses and national gallery of modern art.
For shopping, if you don’t mind splurging, spend an evening at DLF emporio vasant kunj. It has some pretty sick cafe’s nearby.
If you have time try aerocity or dlf cyber city as well, Pretty good shopping enclaves.
For food, if you are months away from visiting Delhi, try to book a table at Indian accent, it’s worth it. Else try to get a reservation at bukhara or dum pukth.
If you love continental, try big chill cafe, pretty amazing.
Thanks
