LCSW here, but we have the same issue. I will say most that I’ve chatted with in this field (have 2 years post licensing as well) unfortunately have to work for a company or the government/non profit that works with the government that can approve your hours. I know a few that went private right away and took close to 2 to 3 years longer than needed (my state is 18 month) to get their licenses since the state would not accept their hours or supervision. They also had to pay for their supervision hours which can get pricey……I did find one company that can approve hours that was private practice, but took a 46% cut for each client to get that.
Does your state offer a LAPC license for pre licensed therapists?
My understanding is the the coaching world is more lucy-goosie. Insurances do not cover so you’d have to market yourself. Most people want to know you’re licensed and experienced. Maybe you can work at a crisis center, that’s great experience and they tend to hire non licensed people. Just a thought
