Wait until 2 weeks before and then do it.
If they walk you out you will still get 2 weeks notice and a mini summer vacation ahaha.
Do not be a doormat to these organizations. First of all 2 weeks notice is the standard and it isnt screwing them over. But they would have no reservations screwing you over
Prioritize yourself.
If you need money, you have to protect yourself first.
I say wait and only give 2 weeks. It's weird once everyone knows. You won't want 4 weeks of that, trust me.
Here at CR once you reach manager, your agreement says that you should give 4 weeks notice. However I've seen a few Directors give 2 weeks and walk out guns blazing.
I think part of it will depend on the partner and reporting chain as to whether they want a smooth transition of 4 weeks or not.
One thing to remember is that we are all expendable and are just a number / metric.
If you're not required to give 4 weeks, I would just give the standard 2, but start offloading things now.. enable those that report to you to take things over... I guess that's quiet quitting to some degree, but its a responsible transition without giving notice.
I did this as manager at ey. I had no problem working during my month notice

It generally depends on your role and the terms you’re exiting on. A manager with a hefty workload and client relationships should have no problem staying on for a month to transition out. A junior staff who’s struggled and is under utilized is definitely at risk of being shown the door after putting in notice.
I have a really hard time imagining them letting you go on the spot unless there are a ton of managers on the bench in your group I guess. I'm curious what the legal situation is given they presumably made you sign an agreement saying you'd give them 4 weeks notice, I think they may be obligated to pay you for that notice period. Some google searching suggests that may be true but I am in no way shape or form qualified to offer legal advice.
