This is a really tough feeling and honestly I deal with it in my personal life too sometimes... At work though whenever that happens I've found it best to try to inquire what their thoughts are on whatever subject they don't trust you in in the moment it's happening. Something like "It sounds like you might take a different approach? Would love to consider that as well." This way you're showing your open to another perspective but that then they have to at least acknowledge yours and explain why it why not they agree. It's tough tho. I know :(
I recommend finding someone who you trust to confide in and let them know how you are feeling! We all need advocates! As an instructional leader I am constantly looking for those people feeling disenfranchised and trying to bring them back into the fold
I feel the same exact way, but I'm in the same boat as you. Idk what to do about it or how to approach the situation
It amazes me how much educators act like children, yet scold children for exhibiting their age appropriate behavior 🤔.
I normally give people the same energy that they give me (unless I know them well enough to know that they are not operating within their dominant personality). If such is the case, I give them space and may even buy them a thinking of you card, depending upon the severity of the shift in their personality. Another thing is (which I have experienced coming into a lead teaching position within the last 4 years), some people are just jealous hearted and don’t know how to work effectively with others without letting their ego get in the way. Wishing you the best with this situation🙏🏾.
And sometimes tackling the issue with the teachers you feel don't like you helps. It's all in how you approach them. And like it was mentioned before having someone to vent to like a mentor helps.
