I don't see where it would hurt. If you didn't hear back the first time I definitely would send a follow up again just on update where they are in the process. Recruiters are bad about ghosting people right now if they don't get the job so I would just ask about where they are in the process to see if they haven't hired someone already
I don't think there is anything wrong with sending a follow up email. In this job market, you have to do everything you can to try and land a role. Best of luck to you!
No, it's wanting to be informed of where things stand. There's nothing pushy about that. If anything, I'd expect your obvious interest in the role to work for you, not against you.

I dont think that’s pushing it and have definitely done it before. They typically just respond with that they’re in the process of interviewing and will get back to me but at least I’ll had a better idea of where they were at in the process and not just left guessing
