Looking to career pivot to Public Policy in tech from core public sector.
I don't have a lot of my own contacts in tech so I am just cold DM'ing on LinkedIn! Any good advice on what how to frame my message?
I am really just saying hi I am interested in switching would you be open to virtual coffee chat and maybe 2 bullets about myself.
But need some tips on how to get responses.
I know some will say I should frame it to the company but this is exploratory chats & me figuring out

Corp/securities associate and lateraled to a 40-50 attorney firm earlier this year. I’m a non traditional candidate and considered a 3rd or 4th year and make $200k base. Waiting on raise/bonus info but can’t help but wonder if I could be making $100k more at a larger firm and working similar hours. I put a premium on the people I work with and have gotten a good rhythm here as well as built up a good rep so far. For reference I have billed avg. 180-200 hrs a month. Any insights?

I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?

How many emails and/or Slack messages do you receive and respond to on a typical day? My employer wants everything answered within 24 hours but in reality responses need to be made almost immediately. This makes getting back on task and being productive almost impossible when there are constant interruptions. Any advice on this or asking for accommodations? I think my best option is to change jobs.

Majority of my department has been informed we will need to look for other positions internally due to our jobs being outsourced. The timeframe for the full transition of all work to the vendors is approximately 6 months. This is the second time in 14 months I have had to look for another position due to outsourcing of work. Since I can only work remotely for my company due to location, is it best to resign or to hold out in hopes for a transition to another department?

Are there bowls for the hospitality/ restaurant industry? My friend is a chief and is looking to switch careers into the corporate world. Thanks!

I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.

I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.

Any advice or similar experience?
