It definitely happens a lot. I have one of those faces that people just feel comfortable around, so they tend to be affectionate with me even though I actually hate it 😆 I wish my face were a little bit less friendly

That makes two of us. I know it’s harmless
I've helped people with things and had them thank me, but I don't recall anyone touching my arm to say thanks. Maybe I just don't have very inviting arms. I guess I'm just not the cuddly type!

I didn’t think my arms were inviting lol. I really hate being touched. My coworkers love hugging me. I don’t wanna be rude to them I need a nice way to tell them to stop hugging me lol
Lol I kind of like this kind of old person who just genuinely wants to show affection to express gratitude. It doesn't weird me out unless obviously there's a creepy vibe. But I get that that's not for everyone. I think you could politely just step back while nodding and smiling. Anything to kind of create some distance.

I believe it’s my willingness to want to help them or the fact that I walk around the store checking in on every customer that’s not being assisted to see if there’s anything I could do for them.
Haha, that’s a classic! Some customers get way too comfy with their “thank you” gestures. A quick smile and a little personal space go a long way—glad you handled it with grace!

It’s things that seems so small to us that’s major for them. Once they’ve conquer the task with our help they’re so excited
I am originally from Brazil, so we actually hug people a lot lol, so my opinion won't matter as much, but it's very normal for us to want to show appreciation like that, and I love this. Why does it bother you if the person was respectful?

That’s good to know thanks
