I downloaded this app called Insight Timer a year or so ago when someone recommended it on here and it has been a lifesaver for sleepless nights. There are free guided meditations and sleep timer options. Definitely check it out!
I will thanks!!
How much hard exercise are you getting a week?
Try a shower before bed where you go from warm to cold.
Dont eat or drink alcohol 3 hrs before bed
Don’t look at screens after dark
To offer something more helpful. I have taken up the habit of toward the end of the day, but ideally with an hour or two left in the day I make a hand written notes / todo list for the next day.
This is just a brain dump. Many days the same issues pop up, especially in my more operational responsibilities. They get them out of my head. Doing this before it’s the end of the day usually gives me time to knock out one of the items on the list.
I used to do morning pages and did a brain dump in the morning. I should do this again too, but started exercising again before work and have a no devices policy before that’s complete now. I have little kids so once I get out of the shower I’m got two adorable toddlers to feed before I jump into my work day.
I feel the same way, I know. I have been using some lavender essential oils to help me sleep, and I also try to stay away from my phone. I have like a favorite thing to watch or something fun to do, and this has been distracting me enough. You could give it a try!
I will I’m desperate and will try anything haha
I know the feeling. I try to physically exhaust myself during the day so that I'm ready to crash when 10 PM rolls around. 45 minutes of weights, 30 minutes of cardio + as many walks as I can fit in. I also find reading before bed always makes me sleepy, but only if I'm reading a physical book, not my Kindle.
Haha I guess this is my wake up call to start working out
I have a Notes app on my phone for work thoughts. Or reminders to myself. I don't wanna have to keep ruminating about the same old work stuff all day and all night, so I write it down and let it go.
I will try it out! Thank you so much!
