Depends on what role or company you want.
Based on what you listed for your near term goals - that can be achieved without an MBA.
Investing only a fraction of your school loan would absolutely help you in your journey - more specific courses, networking opportunities, a small tech stack for you to run your own tests.
Now, if you want to be a brand manager for a large CPG company - then a MBA would be favored.
To be marketing manager/director/vp at a start-up, agency or in house marketing team can be achieved without one.
Many people in this community know someone at marketing director/vp/cmo/ceo levels that don’t have any undergrad degree.
Skills, experience, building and leveraging your network is all that’s required.
No. Work experience & measurable impact runs circles around Wharton grads all fucking day. Join a mid size co or startup series B and smash some homeruns. Learn js/python and SQL to extract and analyze data to demonstrate actionable results. MBAs are dated... Master Bullshit Artist
Thanks for your reply. I don’t use js or python in my current role, but I can definitely see the value and will look into taking some classes. What else would help me stand out to future employers? I have a strong work ethic and quite a bit of free time right now. I am getting good exposure to new things in my current role, but it’s a small company, so I do a lot of tasks at the surface level and don’t deep dive into many areas. I feel like I could be doing more on the side, to set me up for my dream job in the future.
