I currently work at a small fintech. Starting to feel that the opportunity for professional growth is not there. Been doing the same thing for a few years now. Really want to transfer out and do something more analytical. The job search has been demoralizing with a few hundred application with only a few interviews and no offer. Not sure what to do here at this point in my career. What opportunity is out there? Any advice?

What you're experiencing is not uncommon, it's just a really bad job market. It has felt like companies were a little apprehensive about doing much hiring. And in recent weeks, as economic sentiment turns increasingly negative, that scenario can't be getting any better. I think the best approach at the current time is to put time and effort into networking, put out feelers, and see what's available. But finding a great position might take a considerable amount of patience.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. I’m devastated because he’s never expressed anything like this in the 8 years. He’s been super supportive and loving, even when we were in a long distance relationship. He supported my career and dreams and this just doesn’t make sense. We have gotten a counselor but things aren’t getting better. Comment>
