The reason is that some folks get defensive and start defending the feedback without taking it in good spirit and noone wants to entertain an argument from someone they didn’t even plan to select.
Case in Point :
Thank you for the interview.Although your skills are great,we are looking for someone with more relevant experience in X field.
Candidate : Actually my experience is relevant only.You need to also count these x factors…blah blah
Me : Okay Bhai,thank you.
Imagine 10 min arguments from all the rejected candidates
Got it... but a simple note can work in this senario..Instead of hanging the candidate with awaited result, the recruiter should send a note...
Doesn’t work and usually its the hr that avoids the closure message.The business rejects it in first go
