Please stop trying to speed up the process…and let your teams brainstorm how they want. Jesus.
What a weird way to talk, think and be. Who posts something like this?
AI-generated post to goose engagement. How ironic.
People can resist the new tools all they want.
But art directors who refused to learn Photoshop back in the day because it wasn't real art are not exactly thriving
Obviously anyone who uses ai to give them their ideas is a chump. But it's not any different than using any other tool for production
If you have a small team, time is extremely crucial. Anything that can help in that area is a plus. I just look at it as another MarTech tool. Learn it all. Use it as you see fit. It's tough when you have team members who resist change.
If I can find a job. It’s been two years now.
My partner and I use it, mainly for creating visuals and it's a lifesaver and a no-brainer. Neither of us wants to sit there for 2 hours Photoshopping or drawing visuals we've concepted, when we could spend longer thinking and get Midjourney to make the visual much faster and slicker. As for using it for creative concepting, I'm less of a fan. AI will always be artificial and will always pull from existing thoughts and work (similar to how we all generate ideas). There's something that feels a bit yucky about putting an AI idea forward, because if they're not paying us to actually come up with ideas, then what is the point? At our core, we're ideas people.
For comps it can be very helpful. But it can’t write copy for shit.
Hack
When this first came out, our leadership wrote an AI code of ethics and then told us we were allowed to use it in our work within certain parameters. I'm the only one on my team who took them up on it, and my output has gotten better since I can speed up the parts of the process that don't require as much human brainpower and spend my time ideating. It's like buying a toaster to handle the bread so I can decorate a wedding cake. When you have to make toast by hand, your wedding cake will be a lot less detailed. Time waits for no one.
Agree with everyone saying the ones who refuse to adapt will be left behind. Unfortunately, doing things in less time is what many of the companies paying us now demand, and it won’t go away. Taking less time means your plate can get fuller. Less time spent = capacity for more work = bigger profits, nowadays mostly for the higher ups and shareholders.
I too miss the process of taking an afternoon sitting and daydreaming, letting your mind run wild trying to crack a brief, but the genie isn’t going back in the bottle.
The best way to do it would be to prove chasing bullshit metrics doesn’t necessarily translate to sales or profit. That’s what every client is chasing now because the higher ups approve budget based on provable results.
I don’t know how to do that, though.
Visual Storyteller
I agree 100%. It’s a powerful new tool.
My boss doing this but now they realised it doesn't work for actual structure, because client always no budget. End up spend extra time for that, waste everyone time🤡 (ok but at least now they know it's doesn't work )
Well, never try never know :)
