Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

Try to be clear about my open hours and days. Depending on the situation, I can make some exceptions, but I try to adhere to those set hours. You do one small thing, and suddenly you are on call 24/7 with them.
Right, that was something I struggled a lot with when first starting. Felt like I had to do everything at the drop of a hat. But it’s very hard to work like that.
When you first start working with them you should discuss their hours and your hours and it should be part of your service together to work out the best way to deal with that. Whether it's hiring someone to cover some hours outside of your remit or checking in with them before you finish for urgent requests, it's just about clear communication really.
If I'm going to lose work for having good boundaries, they were not somebody I wanted to work with anyway. Just because you work in the entertainment industry doesn't mean you have to lose yourself.
Yeah that’s a good mindset, no point in dealing with someone who makes your life worse!
If you have a work phone then you could possibly turn it off during out of work hours, or even have a work do not disturb for your emails and employee numbers!
Unfortunately we don’t get work phones so I need teams on my personal mobile.
That can depend on the client and the project. If it's someone I really don't want to offend, and would like to work with again, I'll be fairly accommodating. But there have been people where I've drawn the line because I couldn't deal with their neediness and I really wouldn't care to work with them again anyway.
True it could be about picking battles, I think for the most part I’d like to keep as strong as boundaries as I’d like.
