I think cognizant has the worst HRs, like i dropped an email a couple of weeks ago to re-negotiate my offer but they didn't care to respond. It's too bad some recruiters don't understand how the financial crisis impacted the job market and it was hard to get a full-time job because every employer was too afraid to offer full-time jobs. Even when I provided a reasonable explanation and provided certificates of employment which explained why my contracted ended. Covid also impacted....
Have same experiences lately. I feel this happens when non technically competent people in a hiring agency do the initial CV scanning sadly...
You will have to tolerate it. There is no way other than accepting and moving on and trying again and again.
You will see many more unfair and unjust practices, this one might still be argued about.
Try bigger companies, their process is more transparent and they are generally more interested in hiring people from diverse backgrounds. Smaller compnaies have less budgets and they dont want to take even slightest risk in hiring someone they feel miiiiiiiiight be unsuitable in some way. because its not easy to fire people here, hiring is always tough.
Also govt insitutes are more permissive towards gaps in CV (if we think of short term employments with same lense). They have to consider people in interview atleast.
dont worry, you atleast reached interview!!! may be not on 2nd or 3rd, but on 4th interview you will find someone willing to trust that short term employment background is not a risk for the position.
