Is QEF inclusion dividend or not? Sometimes, I see QEF inclusion reported on Line 11i and sometimes on Line 6a. I think we can rely on Sec. 1293(c) but I think it’s not foolproof. My hunch is since QEF regime is tailored to treat the PFIC similar to domestic mutual funds, we should not treat the QEF inclusion as dividends. Any help is appreciated.

I am an associate at an AM200 firm and was (IMO) very clear prior to accepting this role that I value work-life balance and wanted to try to keep work at night on the weekends to a minimal, but since February, it seems like it’s always something that requires my time as needed disregarding “business hours” or my personal schedule. I rented a house that had been vacant for a bit & the prior tenant didn’t do a thorough job cleaning up. Agent indicated the owner would be open to having the house cleaned but I would need to have the house professionally cleaned when I moved out (that was fine w me). I just received the bill from the owner for $250, which is super annoying bc there was no expectation communicated that I would foot the bill for this, more so bc the cleaner did a LOUSY job. My partner and I bought our home back in 2020. We got a good deal, low rate. But we want to move into a more spacious SFH. However, as we all know this market is crazy. Everything we want costs $620k+ and bc of rates it makes our mortgage estimates $3500+. We are currently paying $2k. And it looks we need to sell the house simultaneously as look for a new one or our contingency isn’t as attractive. I know it’s based on personal circumstances.
