While my boss isn't has bad as yours, I have been wanting to quit for months now but I'm job search isn't going anywhere and I don't know when I'll actually be able to leave
At any time leaving a job without another secured has risks. Now, is an especially precarious time. In the last 2 years job hunts - based on my experience and the experiences I have read about here and on linked-in (I take with a small grain of salt) have been arduous, and today no one knows where we are going as a nation. Is there any maneuverability (sp?) at your job? A lateral move to get you out from under, while you look elsewhere? Take care of yourself, and put your happiness first - in any way you can. Tell your network/friends you are looking - all of them. Took me just over a year to get a new job when my last gig dried up. After 6 months, I swallowed my pride and I reached out to everyone I had ever worked with - and a woman I had not seen or spoke to for years got me an interview- 6 interviews later - I finally was hired. Some here in a fish bowl recently said, "I have done this before, and I can do it again." Hang on to hope by focusing on leaving and not on why you are leaving.
Too real. I’m very good at my job. Have been consistently promoted everywhere I’ve worked. Awards and all that, but it’s still a baron wasteland out there. It genuinely makes me want to just go do something else and put all the money I’ve been saving at risk to bet on myself
