The last time I walked out on a job without having something else lined up was when I was a teenager and it wasn't much of a job. I'd be very wary of doing it now, though if things got utterly untenable I might do what you did. Let's hope your health and sleep improve and you find something else quickly.

I think a lot of people can relate and have gone through it at one time or another. The feelings you had working there are real and detrimental. There is no doubt you were going through an agonizing situation. It's understandable that being unemployed is a scary thing. Our everyday struggles whether it be not making enough or other things are stressful but manageable compared to this type of situation. Regular stress doesn't affect people in this way. I know the relief is indescribable and am so glad you are in a better place mind and body wise. Sending good thoughts your way. You'll recover from this!

Earlier this year. Had a bit of a breakdown, called my partner, and after talking to them and getting some reassurance, I walked out. It was a long time coming, and I’m grateful it was an option I could take. It’s mind-blowing how much a toll it takes on you over time.
