I find it difficult to figure out what I should be getting paid. In the consulting space, we wear so many different hats that it's weird/difficult to generalize titles. Anyone else?

What is your most qualified skillset? use that to check the market value.


But also make sure there’s a clearly defined task and responsibility list on signing. If they try to put more on your plate than originally agreed upon you are within your right to ask for more.

That is sort of their tactic. Have you wear many hats so then your role is unclear and you can’t defend your market value.
