Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Given how unreliable ChatGPT is, I wouldn't care one way or the other if my counterpart in a negotiation was using it. I might even want them to be using it. In any event, I hope I'd be interviewing with a company that wouldn't have people using ChatGPT for something serious.
You obviously need to tell your AI engines to cite its sources, I do. They pull data from multiple datasets. Comp professionals match a combination of market and internal paydata to determine what they are willing to pay an incumbent. AI just speeds up the search and actually keeps the data from being hoarded by sources.
I have no problem with it and assume they are. AI is being used for everything else. It'd be naive to think companies haven't started using it for negotiating too.
What if they were using it to profile you?
Don't worry. Employers absolutely are...the AI engines are pulling from so many labor datasets at once, as a comp pro, it makes my life a breeze
