I get discounts on car rentals through work. Would it be dumb to rent a Porsche for the day on my birthday next month? Pros/cons? Would probably run me $100.

Does it bring you joy? That seems like the price of a cheap date. Do it! Plan a good route to drive it, take yourself somewhere fun, etc.

It’s always worthwhile to create memories and you’ll probably look back and be happy you did — more than a $100 investment anywhere else.

Take the Porsche and have a great day my friend.

$100 to rent a Porsche for a day? That’s not bad. Do it if this is something you enjoy

like

It’s just a car. Do it or don’t. No one cares. Do it for yourself if it means something to you. $100 is nothing.

like

Yes if it’s a 911

Hysterical, but true 👍 stick shift or automatic ?

Just do it jfc

I did the Porsche experience once and had a BLAST! Do it, life is too short to have regrets or I wish I did thats!

Check if your insurance covers it. Should be okay

likesmart

Check the insurance.
If you’re on the hook for $50,000 if you crash it, that might not be so fun.

like

If the T&C checks out this could be ok.
Have fun

like

Do it! But get the insurance for sure. I wrecked a Mustang GT in 2016- completely at fault out in Las Vegas. I went in the next morning and made a statement and never heard from them again, Best $50 I’ve ever spent 😂

like

Bigger question:
a.) Can you handle the amount of power under the hood?
b.) Do you have somewhere where you can do so safely?

Renting a Porsche just to run errands seems like a bit of a waste, tbh

like

Sure! I’m just saying that he needs to do it safely.

💯 do this!

$100 seems a small price to enjoy your birthday!

like

Oh course go for it!

like

#DOIT You'll never forget the feeling of cruising a Porsche on your birthday. Especially on a long drive to nowhere... Sorta like cheap therapy and a getaway to decompress and unwind

like

Do you have the $100 with out compromising real responsibility if answer is yes then go for it if if no tray to budget for it so you don't compromise your responsibility that will affect you on the long run...

like

No it is not dumb. Rent and enjoy if you are able to afford it.

like

if you can afford it lease a Porsche and change to different cool cars every 2 or 3 years is Best !

I just spent $100 on a bag of forgettable groceries.

funny

I would do it but with some thoughts. If the discount is attached to or normally part of travel I would let the company know what you want to do so if they see something then it will not be a big deal. I would want to be sure the company does not to lay out any money this as well. Just be sure you are not violating some policy that might bite you in the butt. I would also pay for my own insurance on the rental as to again not have to expect the company to have to do anything but support the discount.
