For career progression, you will likely have more growth opportunities with the chain store, as it is usually a larger operation, more positions, more possibilities for movement.
Not sure if a smaller place would be better work wise though!
If your goal is to progress, there will be much less opportunity in the independent shop for sure. In a chain store I’ve been able to move up and climb FAST just due to the demand and amount of people moving/changing. It’s a lot longer of a wait and sometimes takes 10-20 years to wait for someone for retire or something bad enough to happen at smaller stores unfortunately.
That’s true, really just depends maybe!
