Outside the GMAT, what other things can one focus on to improve their chances at a good MBA college ? In a span of 6 months ?

Studied accounting and finance but worried about the future of this profession. Currently working in Forensic Consulting but want to leave. I have an offer from a pretty well-known but less prestigious Consulting Firm, but I’m wondering what my chances even are of going Big 4/MBB if I’m not a campus hire. Will they even consider me for an experienced hire a year or two down the road if they showed no interest this time? Any advice welcome!

Having tough time deciding between IB & Consulting. My thought process: I have a "better" background for IB (TAS/valuation) and with tech layoffs, this might push more potential would-be tech applications to pursue consulting (there by increased competition)? Additionally, you can do IB intern and full time consulting but not vice versa. I prefer consulting, but IB seems like the "safer" option? And if consulting does get hit hard, I would hopefully have a full time IB offer via internship.

T2 consulting —> MBA at M7–> top tier IB —> top tier PE/HF. Is this feasible?
