I sometimes wish I had written down some of the excuses people have tried on me. I've forgotten so many of them. The age excuse turns up fairly often. I've also had people randomly inform me that they're veterans. Okay, that's great, but it's got nothing to do with the situation. I'm the kind of person who would feel weird asking for special treatment, but some people go through life always demanding it, and for some irrelevant reason.

It’s so crazy people want you to have a heart but come in rude and out of order. I’ll listen to your request and if I see an opportunity to help I would see what options you have. People who makes demands never gets what they want from me
I don't get it. If she hated the product, why not try to return it sooner? And what does the chair part have to do with it? lol. Some people just try to use pity to make you go against policy. I have had that a few times already.

We were doing another transaction and she was sitting in the chair she was going to fall out of (which is a company chair)

Wow, some customers really try everything. It’s frustrating when people use sympathy or drama to bend the rules. Sticking to the policy firmly is the only way to keep things fair—and you handled it well by staying professional.
