I hate my office keyboard. It is not as responsive and is also causing me a lot more typos compared to the regular keyboard I use when wfh. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good keyboard? I’d rather buy one than to get another terrible replacement from the office.

Had an interview for an associate position at Citi. Interviewee was based in London and I’m in NYC. The only interview time that worked was 6am. I was barely functioning and feel like I truly messed up in my answers because I couldn’t not think clearly. I have another with the head of the division next week again at 6am (pre determined before this interview). It was also hard because the division’s core work is private enough that there was not much prep I could do beforehand. Tips?

Hi SpEd Teachers, is anyone else facing EXTREME staff shortages as a result of state funding? We are not able to meet my students' IEP requirements (not even close) due to not enough paraprofessionals and the district flat out refusing to hire more. I've lost 70+ hrs/week of para hours over the past few years and my students are really suffering. This leaves our district open to lawsuits, but the real problem is the state's education budget. What can we do?? This isn't going to fix itself.

How's the job security at Accenture as such? I know that last year, they sacked people ruthlessly and now are facing a resource crunch. Also that they mandatorily place poor performers in PIP.

But how is it in general? Should I perform as per expectation, can I be relaxed about the job security aspect or do you always need to be on your toes?

How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.

How many interviews is too many? I’ve done 5 one on ones with different people in the practice group. They want me to talk to a few more, but I’m frustrated. It’s so hard to find time to schedule these things and the associates don’t seem to understand I can’t just take them in the middle of the work day at work. Recruiter thinks it’s a good sign. PSA: The grass is greener in a regional firm if you can lateral over as a partner. I lateralled over last year and my billable expectation is only 1700. I have my own clients and make about 100k (after bonus) more than I did as a senior associate. The upside is probably capped because top equity partners probably make 1.5 to 2 million here but it is all worth it for the WLB. I only take on what I want to do and I help out other partners only when I feel like it.

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

I haven’t done caselaw research since 1L and this isn’t even my practice… wtf do I do (I am fully utilized in my normal work and have a few deals closing soon…)

If you do billable work on a given PTO/vacation day, do you still count that day as vacation? Or do you get that vacation day "back"? Or do you only get the part that you billed "back"? (Or some other option.)
