I have a CPA and am currently working at a Big 4 in a project management consulting role rather than technical accounting. I’ve been in this role for 3 years now but would like to get back into a more technical role. Looking at exit ops it feels like I’d be qualified for senior accountant roles in industry based on prior audit experience but it’d likely be a 40-50% pay cut. Anyone made a rebound from a different type of role or have industry experience that may help inform my next move?

I went to a senior associate role but it was a 30K pay bump. You just have to be upfront with recruiters the salary that you are looking for. But realistically, you could probably take a manager role in industry.

Should I refer my SO to Google?
(Does she have a real shot?)

She's a Project Manager at a global auto parts manufacturer.
Her role is 30% technical, 70% business (meaning she has good problem solving and stakeholder mgmt skills).
5 YOE+Degree at a top engineering school in Europe
My experience at Google made her interested in joining the company, but we never really acted on it.
Could she be a good fit?
If so which areas/orgs?

(Also, are there any rules against it?)
