Anybody have insight into ballpark salary range for Director level pay at Microsoft in a non-engineering role? I understand there’s probably varying degrees based upon org/function, as well as location. Just assuming Remote work, what would salary/bonus/stocks look like? Or just TC in general?
I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?

Anyone have any ideas of the salary ranges in risk advisory at a director level at BDO? I saw a job post for a position in a new practice area and it looks like the position would be tasked with building out a team. Also would be grateful for insight into BDO’s work culture / work-life balance.

No.
Imo, the “emasculating” part is your ego talking. The brain part you should be engaging is asking yourself if it’s worth the hassle going against an unpredictable homeless person with nothing much else to lose compared to yourself who has a wife next to you and a whole lot more other things to look forward to during that day and the rest of your future days.
Just be cautious and avoid encounters with them.
I used to work on 34th and 6th. Herald Square has always been a big hangout for the homeless, and its touristy nature makes it a place where small-time crooks are lurking around a lot. So im not shocked this happened.
You were smart not to fight the guy. There’s always the remote chance they have a weapon, so as long as he disengaged, just let it be.
The best move is to call it in to the local precinct and file a report that you were assaulted. Chances are they won’t go out looking for the guy, BUT you create a paper trail, and if enough complaints come in, they’ll likely post an officer permanently nearby to prevent it from happening again.
It also creates a paper trail on the guy. So if someone matching his description attacks someone else, they’ll have more of a leg to stand on if they decide to charge him or bring him into the station for questioning.

Update: friends experience this week with NYPD.
Hi. My motorcycle was stolen.
You can file a report.
Report filed. And my AirTag just showed up at this address.
We just checked. There is no motorcycle there.
Walks to address. Finds motorcycle.
Police. We’re towing this. You will have to bring a tow truck and proof you own the motorcycle you reported stolen and pay a $400 tow fee for us picking it up.
But here is my registration, please don’t tow it.
Sorry. You need another piece of paper, not your state issued proof of ownership.
Nothing you can do unfortunately. I understand the feeling though, if it’s helpful to have validation. I was spat on by someone last year and it’s so degrading and dehumanizing. There’s nothing you can do about it, and that’s the most frustrating part. The most you can do for yourself is remind yourself that what happened is about that person, not about you. The guy who kicked you clearly has some big personal issues to deal with, and I hope you can find peace in knowing that you can continue living your life and not deal with him again

Calling the cops isn’t a real option. I had a crazy dude punch me in the head while yelling at James (not my name) on the subway. The 911 operator just told me to fuck off and refused to even tell me where to go to file a report.
For those of you who think NYC is getting worse. This was 2012. The cops then were cooking the books to hide crime. Until Adam’s started they were cooking to create crime since they didn’t like Dizzybots. They are back to cooking them to help their boy in blue. The police are not your friend.

AD1 sorry about that. Astor place station (on the 6) for me. Had a mild concussion that time, but chased the guy off the train. No one even stood up. NYPD was actively unhelpful. Unless the news is there (or it happened to someone with a family member in the NYPD) they aren’t.
