I have a genuine question: Is it still worthwhile to be in Advertising? We are not paid as much as other professions, such as digital marketing professionals or paid media specialists. We are not saving lives. We are living in constant scrutiny. We are enduring 'slow and special' brand folks and their intellect. We do not get to do truly creative work; it's mostly BAUs. And then there is AI. And real, hard, and cold life with inflation, cost of living/housing, and everything. What's the point?

Partners: I’m a sr. associate managing multiple cases without a whole lot of oversight. A few of the cases I am managing are very large, very fast, and very contentious. I try to be as immersed in the details as I can, but can’t know everything. I rely on others to give me accurate and actionable facts. I am a Product Owner with 4+ YOE. I have been in my current role for 4 months and have continuously found that this role and company are not the right fit for me. Looking back on everything they said during the interview process it turns out that the culture, product and role are not aligning with anything we discussed. Has anyone ever worked at an agency in which the project management department was properly utilized? I traditionally was brought up in my career where PM type tasks were handled by lower level AMs. I have observed separating AM and PM tasks into two separate departments just causes communication issues and lazy account people. Account people should have a good understanding of how much effort and time goes into a project. Project Managers are missing a lot of context so blind leading blind.
