I wouldn’t even tell him that you’re filing separately. Let him get nailed for not filing a return. You do your taxes however you choose! Good luck!
Isn’t that a problem? What if he files standard i will get into trouble right?
You both have to file the same. But if you are only getting a little back then maybe when you look at both returns it’s better to use the standard. He might not have enough to itemize
I will be getting more than 10k back because i have been solely bearing the expenses by myself interest payments etc
OP I hate to ask but why can't you reach him? I don't know that you can file separately especially if you haven't talked to him to agree with it.
