And what kind of questions will be asked..And i already told them that I'm expecting a 100% hike which is 7 lakhs/Annum. Was that too much? Any help would be appreciated ThanksEXL Service

I just got an offer for the Tableau position.(Lead SE) It may take about a month with ~4 interviews with a demo at the end. For the demo, they really liked that I tied a success story I had with a client and built the presentation tied to their framework for best practices. If you’re coming from consulting background, make sure to really polish a few implementation stories and talk about what the situation was, your work and the impact. Also think about how you would explain Saleforce’s benefits against competing platforms. Feel free to talk about how you got introduced to Salesforce and why you enjoy the work with the software by how it impacted you or the client as users and/or developer. For the demo, focus less on demonstrating functionality and more on telling a good story about business values and impact to users. I have about 12 years consulting exp. and 5 years with Tableau.
Story tell (personas, focus on the why) and focus on value instead of features. Ask discovery around weird questions being thrown at you (I.e. does x work this way? In which you respond, how does x work for you right now? Understand why they’re asking certain questions).
Core SE @ Salesforce rn and came from ACN/Deloitte/PwC so feel free to ping me.
Great advice all!!
I have technical screen with SE and then convo with AE next week, really excited about the potential here! Not the MOST technical person in the world, but definitely know my way around Tableau and currently a Platform Manager at BofA - so manage relationships and help our developers understand the business aspect of the products or enhancements they’re developing.
The technical screen is what worries me the most bc I’m a “just get it done” type, so if it’s not something I currently know, I hustle and grind to learn it for the use case to get deliverable across the line. But if you ask me about a specific technical aspect, I may flub it without Tableau in front of me…kind of the way I used to only remember phone numbers if I was looking at a keypad…
Anyway, any insights into how to get thru these two rounds are appreciated!
I just received an offer for lead SE. Have you already made it to panel or meeting with the hiring manager? With the hiring manager and any other subsequent people you meet, be engaging and put an emphasis on how your implementation experience can be an asset to the team and ask questions specific to that team. Also make sure to put an emphasis on any pre-sales work you've done. For the panel, always highlight business value, it's less about functionality and more about how will this solution save a company time, money or gain business, etc. They will give you a first call deck to start off with and you'll be given a coach to help you practice. Good luck!
They told me it’s normal to have 3-4 interviews because you want to talk to both SE team and Account manager(s).
Thanks for the great advice everyone. Much appreciated!
Would love to know basic determinations for levels if someone from SFDC could chime in. SE, Senior SE, Lead SE, etc. is it reasonable to come in as Senior with 3+ years partner implementation/consulting experience?
Awesome, makes sense, thank you for the feedback
Is demo specific for SE roles? Or they do that for all job roles?
This may be specific to Tableau, but what they’ve told me is that most sales jobs will require the ability to demo. Remember that this isn’t about how good of a developer you are, but more about how you can use the product to tell a good story and highlight business value proposition.
