Does anyone have ideas on how to help local businesses during this time from a work perspective? Our engagement committee thought of buying gift cards and somehow incorporating ways to give back but our matching gift program applies to organizations that are only IRS tax exempt. I am trying to find a way that the company can help with giving back to local business. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Do any managers do more than just manage and lead the team? Currently I manage the team, manage accounting, handle HR, handle marketing such as documents and emails, provide all of the technical support, and sell. My boss still works from home and only looks at the phone report to check the productivity. They refuse to look at my reports or complete activity logs. Because I have 4 hours of no phone activity daily, my boss believes I am not working hard enough. Cont.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a list broker? I am trying to find a legitimate vendor and I can’t seem to find one that doesn’t seem to be run out of a seedy back room.
It feels weird posting a LinkedIn post in FishBowl, but I found this post from Jamal very insightful. I would have just copied the text, but I want to give him credit.
Having read the Outward Mindset from the Arbinger Institute I wonder if any of you have used it in your business to help with a cultural mind shift? If so, do you have thoughts you can share? Thanks!!
We have a fixed PTO time plan (very generous) but leftover rates by now are enormous. It’s gonna be about 160 hours of unused PTO per employee in the end of the year, and we only rollover 80. We thought about rolling over everything, but then accruals get too high. Does anyone have creative ideas how we can roll over excessive hours and don’t make them wages at the same time...

What do you do on Monday to get your week set up? I feel like I spend so much time helping my team get their pipelines in shape for the week / setting up a plan.
What's your organization's stance on surveys? I've been in the HR department of my organization for a year and a half, we've never sent any type of engagement, satisfaction, NPS, etc. survey to employees. I've just been made aware that our Executive team and our CEO are not a fan of employee surveys so that's why we don't do them. Is this...normal? Or is it dysfunctional as an HR department to not be doing surveys?
Looking to learn more about how others determine the correct cadence to advertise for evergreen requisitions or invitations to join a talent pool without over saturating the audience?
What does your company’s performance management cycle look like? Do you do quarterly reviews? Decouple compensation from feedback? What does the calendar look like?
What activities do yall use to build rapport with your customer base? As an example, the old troed and true method of inviting a cuatomer to a round of golf. Currently, I am trying to see if my base is into mountain biking.
I've been in account management/sales hybrid roles for the last 8 years at 2 different companies. I am looking for roles that are strictly sales based where I do not have to do a bunch follow up forever trying to grow the business. I enjoy the sales cycle and don't mind following up for a year if thats what it takes to get my contract back but I am just not into the long term account development. I currently work remote and am open to 50% travel. Any hot leads or advice?
Hi, I’m new to fishbowl and am excited to utilize it! Does anyone here work in the Auto Sales Industry? If so, how have sales been as of recent?
Actively seeking a new opportunity and I am slowly starting to feel discouraged due to lack of response. Anyone else having issues searching for employment right now?
Booking a round trip to India on United 17 Dec to 2 Jan. Round trip is 150k points per person. Good deal or not?
Working at hospital - read med notes for anxious patient: nurse meant to type, "PRN (as needed meds) given with good effect". Unfortunately spell check corrected to, "Porn given with good effect". 😅
Just noticed that Delta now has a new euphemism: behind scheduled. It's not delayed but just behind schedule....😂
Happy holidays, my fellow introverts, loners, misanthropes, holiday-haters, and all other categories averse to extended time with family and crowds!!!! 🤓🍾🎉
Am I screwed for getting into a top 10-15 MBA program is I graduated college with a 3.3 GPA? I think I can tell an interesting story; graduated HS with a 2.2 and went to CC, then transferred to a top 10 undergrad business program. My college GPA is starting to make me nervous though.
I think this should also be for recent MBA grads too. I was applying back in the day when the Business Week thread had it all. Wonder if it's still the case or has fishbowl replaced that?
Happy Mother’s Day! My mom left this earth 7 years ago. Since then I honor her on this day by cooking her recipes. One of them being Matcha Swirled Mantou - Sweet Steamed Buns. Thanks mom!
With Valentine’s Day approaching and the weather also finally becoming colder, any takers for a lonely cuddly consultant ? (For context - Indian, 30M/NJ)
I‘m skeptical that the tech-driven stock market rally will sustain itself... (apparently tech went from 20 to 50% of the S&P by valuation)... what are some contrarian investments (think in terms of partial diversification from tech rather than shorting tech)?
Anyone with an interview at Yale SOM willing to share stats, post-MBA goal, and how you got the invite (time of day, subject line, etc)? My biggest fear (after not getting an invite) is getting in my junk/spam/promotions and missing it
