Hi Fishes,
Does Deloitte USI have any cool down period, if you apply and do not get any response from the company? I had previously applied in a role, but didn't hear back from them. So, I'm planning to try to apply via referral this time and I'm wondering if I should use the same e-mail ID or a different one! Deloitte USI
I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

Yes this is very normal in this job market. I’ve been unemployed for two years and this has happened so many times I can’t even tell you how much. It’s even happened for jobs I’ve had employee referrals for, that I don’t even get an interview for even though I’m more than qualified. The biggest culprit is Chewy. They have been reposting the same positions, across multiple cities, for over a year. It’s absolutely insane. I’m so annoyed by it that I wrote a long message to LinkedIn CEO and sent it to every exec team member at LinkedIn saying they should increase the price of job postings for jobs posted within 3 months, and continue to increase at 6, 9, 12 months. I said there needs to be some verification that these are real and actual positions. And if they do hire they need to link the person hired’s profile (with privacy) to prove they hired. Only one person replied, someone in product and said they are working on it.
Here’s my full message for entertainment:
As an active job seeker, I wanted to bring attention to a growing concern I’ve observed during my job search, and offer a solution that could benefit both job seekers and employers.
I strongly suggest implementing thresholds for how many times a job can be reposted on LinkedIn. Specifically:
- Each repost should increase the posting fee, with higher increments after 3, 6, 9, and 12 months.
- There should also be a function on the recruiter side where, upon closing a listing, they must click either “role filled” or “role unfilled.”
- If they select “role filled,” they should provide the LinkedIn URL of the hired individual (kept private for internal purposes).
- If “role unfilled” is selected, the company should be charged a fee.
This would help address a concerning trend I've witnessed: many employers repeatedly post job listings with no genuine intent to hire. Over the past two years of my unemployment, I’ve seen countless instances of the same roles being posted and reposted for months, even years, with little transparency. This creates confusion, wastes applicants' time, and raises false hopes. In many cases, I’ve also seen candidates go through a lengthy process, only for the role to be reposted soon after, despite them meeting all the requirements.
Adding these features would create accountability for employers and improve the overall integrity of LinkedIn’s job market.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
