I have been working as a geriatric care manager for 8 years. Mainly in the non-profit world and for the last year and a half I've been in the private sector, both in NYC. Have been thinking about a career change but I feel stuck. Any advise?

Put this entire blurb into ChatGPT & ask for advice on career changes or pivots? Or which roles make sense with minimal learning costs. I would also say in NYC. Good luck 🍀

Hi there, career coach here. Start by writing down what aspects of your job you enjoy, and which ones you dislike. In your ideal next career, what would change? Then look at your skill sets and make a list of them - consider how they might transfer to different careers. Happy to suggest possible career pivots, but would need a bit more information from you in terms of what you want moving forward. Do you want more hands-on forward facing clinical work? Do you want away from geriatrics? Out of healthcare all together? Those sorts of things. Feel free to DM me!

How valid do you think a Myers briggs test is for determining if a career pivot is the right move. I recently took one and the career suggestions from the results seemed to be things I was already thinking about doing anyway which was a pleasant surprise.

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. I’m torn because the opportunity is great but the stress was awful. Continued in comments…

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!

I'm about to graduate from an MBA program and am looking for jobs in this space. I'd love any recommendations for places to check out! Thanks!

Hi!

I recently did a job interview and I made it clear to the HR my expectation salary is 60k a year, non negotiable.
Today I got the job offer and they are offering me 54k. My current company is making me 50k with tons of benefits which is why I am asking for 60k.

Should I accept the offer or renegotiate?
