I Hi everyone,

I was recently laid off in March due to the dismantling of USAID. I’ve spent the last 7 years working with a government contractor on USAID-funded programs, most recently as a Project Accounting Manager. Prior to that, I worked as an auditor at KPMG and
Deloitte in Southeast Asia.

I’m a licensed US CPA and am now looking to transition into Tax and join an accounting firm. If anyone has openings in their Tax division or could offer a referral, I would greatly appreciate it. Deloitte EY @

Would you be interested in a firm that does day to day accounting (bookkeeping to CFO/consulting) for mainly nonprofits? It’s a great work/life balance including 35 hour WFH work week. No taxes, no audit.

like

Associate 1, I applied there and never heard back. I'm presently interviewing for controller or SMB CFO roles. Do you have openings at that experience level?

If you have no experience in tax, you’ll likely start as an Associate and that means Associate salary.
Secondly, PA firms are laying off people right now more than hiring and with the focus on offshoring, it’s maybe a good idea to look at other roles outside of tax and PA firms. Good luck

I don’t mind to apply as a Tax Associate. I have worked at Block Advisor doing taxes, I like taxes and want to learn more.

From what the SMs advised, Talent opens back up in June. We noticed the referral system was closed for a few months. Button was completely removed. Not only my project but others. Just FYI so you may need to repost in June.

Thanks for your advise. Can I PM you in June for applying to Deloitte?

We’re hiring in tax depending on the location

I am in Arlington, VA near DC. Can I dm you?

I have 10 years of experience. Mostly in Unix, C++ and Visual C++ and MS SQL. I developed interest in cloud computing as like many others and was able to clear AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect Associate and Professional, AWS Security. Along with these I was able to clear 8 Azure certifications as well: 3 fundamentals, Azure Security, Azure Developer, Azure DevOps and Azure Architect.
Now my main question, can I try to switch on Cloud Architect or some other similar cloud roles?

Would you stay living in a city you like but have very few friends there, or move back to your hometown where most of your friends and family are? My current city has a population of about 500k and my hometown is about 100k. My main reason to move away from my hometown was dating and jobs, but neither seem to be going any better over the past 2 years. COL is about 28% higher than my hometown and jobs don’t pay much better.
