PwC had its benefits but I also remember the very restrictive environment we had to work in. We were consultants stuck in an accounting firm limited by regulation and policies that didn’t even apply to us, not to mention the risk averse nature of firm leadership. As far as brand strength, show me a place where we have lost business due to name recognition. Good work and strong relationships sell work, we all know that.
Are you referring to the “splash” ?
I joined PWC then it become Guidehouse. I still provide high quality products and don’t blame my shortfalls on the brand name of my company.
The fact that certain people still whine about the sale shows an incredible lack of maturity. If you are so worried about the brand you work for either help improve the brand’s reputation by providing outstanding service or go somewhere else. You are free to do whatever you like.
I’m happy to help build something but then again, I’m confident in my skill set and am always eager to find ways to improve.
Now go do work.
Haha it hasn’t impacted my work product at all. I was just asking other FB peeps what they thought. But thanks for your insight.
Yah that brand has taken a hit on both the PwC and GH sides. Give Scott a chance, he’s a shark. He’ll glow up. You just got Navigant which was stronger than GH as a brand.
You have to worry about whether they’ll sell it once it is a strong brand. I mean it is owned by Veritas. It’s not a good long term place for just that reason.
Eh. I don’t miss it and I was there a long time. How many all hands did we attend where none of the topics applied to us? Public sector was always disconnected. Agreed we are still missing a lot that goes with the brand and scale but we may see quicker advancement now taking in Navigants more mature operations.
Agree with M1 that you should give it a chance- we are winning work from B4 competitors and expanding (speaking for the health sector). Change can bring great opportunity- that’s how I see it. I also like the underdog mentality and think it can be a driving force.
I will try to check out the SE! I’ve heard good things!
I dunno I posit to you that people addicted to prestige have low self esteem and need the external validation... Cream rises to the top regardless of the organization
Oh I definitely have low self esteem. No arguments there.
Do you like the work you’re doing? You still have PwC on your resume for the long term, but I don’t think prestige is all that important day-to-day...
I do. Some days I don’t but I would say all around I am pretty satisfied.
I don’t know...no real reason. I’m not really great at FB so I just picked the bowl I’m in the most. 🤷♂️
OP, I’m curious why you decided to post this here instead of in the Guidehouse bowl?
GH7, I wasn’t making a point, I was asking a question. OP, the point I’d like to make is that your post makes our firm look bad in front of our competitors. But my opinion also differs from yours. I’m legacy PwC and have experienced the sale to be a largely positive thing (one example: being free from all of PwC’s compliance requirements means I have more time to deliver quality work to my clients).
