I just completed a SUPER HARD assessment for a job. I had the hardest time trying to figure out how to merge 2 columns into one without retyping the text. We never use this crap in admin. Jobs. I only got 2 questions wrong & im PRAYING i get an interview. My supervisor is such aTOXIC, NARCISSISTIC person. She requested to be off on the SAME DAY as my birthday the day after Labor day. I asked her if I could be off on the same day as her, she told me 2 submit my time & STILL NO APPROVAL. WITCH!!🤬

Merging two columns is a standard function that everyone should know as it is used all the time especially in admin. Tips on this shortcut are easily accessible and plentiful through a Google search. I hope you have now learned this function and add it to your spreadsheet skillset.

I tried to Merge the two columns into one by clicking the "Columns" tab in Word, but the assessment told me it was wrong. The assessment wanted me to demonstrate how to do it. I tried Google as well and tried it step by step--and it was still wrong. I tried!!

Not sure what admin jobs you've been exposed to, but there are tons of times in my career that info from two columns has had to be put into one column (or vice versa). In Excel, it's the concatenate function. You mentioned Word, so you couldn't do that. But infonin a Word table can be easily pasted into an Excel sheet, then the concatenate function is run, and then you can take the combined info in one column and paste it as a table in Word. I've done that kind of thing many a time in my career. Nowadays, I don't even bother if it's non-confidential data; in that case, I copy-paste it into Perplexity or ChatGPT or Gemini and tell it to do the desired edit and then I take the revised table and paste it into my document or Excel sheet. It's a good trick to know and will come in handy in an office job.

Copying and pasting the info from Word into a table or Excel was not an option on the assessment. When I tried to copy the 2nd paragraph column of the prompt under the 1st paragraph column, it told me it was incorrect. I asked chatgpt and it still said it was wrong--so I must have missed something. Oh well!!🫠

A coworker asked me to do something, I should have questioned it but did it because I trusted their seniority. I got called out for it by our boss on an email. Should I say something? I’ve been working for a small investment firm for about a year and am having some issues with my boss. We have a weekly check-in but he’s ALWAYS 2-3 hours late, or skips the meeting altogether without warning. He also never replies to any of the emails I send. I already spoke with him about these issues, but things haven’t really changed. I really like the work I do but I’m starting to feel frustrated about the situation. Any advice? Or anyone else in a similar situation?

So, this is a little awkward, but I recently moved to SD for a fresh start, and honestly, I love this city. My problem is I have been more of a homebody since I moved here and I'm a little intimidated to go out and meet people because I don't feel like I fit in here. I am overweight and this city is full of active, and attractive people. I guess I am wondering what my experience would be if I got out more? I feel like people look at me when I'm in public because I stand out due to my size.
