My doctor had me take a week off because of the chronic stress and borderline panic my situation at work is causing.

In many ways, I feel recharged, confident...and more ready than ever to quit. :(

Not sure what is stressing you about your situation, but seeing a psychologist and working with detachment, has really helped me keep perspective. Burnout and panic is unfortunately a really common "side effect" of our profession. There is a definate clash between the typical teacher mentality and the system in which we work. Protect youreself and follow your heart.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.

Finally hit my breaking point. Been nothing but irritable & pissed off these past few weeks. Coach asked me on Friday when I’ll be taking time off & I just broke down. I’m a top performer & a workhorse. I’ve put so much effort into making sure my team is okay I forgot about myself. Now I am buried in work, performance is dropping & I can’t stop crying randomly. I kept telling people I am drowning but no one was listening. Coach is leaning to tell everyone to backoff thankfully.

For the first time in my life, I know what I’m supposed to do at my job, with relationships around me and it’s all because the enormous sense of anxiety I used to experience evaporated during quarantine. I didn’t know that I lived with so much anxiety that it crippled me. I didn’t know I needed this time to myself.

I am on a stress leave. Every time I look at emails from work, the less encouraged I am to return. It is so overwhelming!
