Mental Health and Support

My doctor had me take a week off because of the chronic stress and borderline panic my situation at work is causing. In many ways, I feel recharged, confident...and more ready than ever to quit. :(

Not sure what is stressing you about your situation, but seeing a psychologist and working with detachment, has really helped me keep perspective. Burnout and panic is unfortunately a really common "side effect" of our profession. There is a definate clash between the typical teacher mentality and the system in which we work. Protect youreself and follow your heart.

Anyone know what the NY rule is if I am flying to the city just to handle some things and then immediately returning to my parent’s high covid state? I’ll be in NY for 4 days (of course isolated in my apartment) but will there be a problem if I am not there to quarantine for 2 weeks when I try to leave?

As a B4 assurance manager, what do you choose between assistant controller (let's say, of a hospital system division -- not THE overall assistant controller) or VP Finance/CFO of a small university?

Two weeks in at a (contract) client gig and not having Slack (or any form of instant messaging across the office) is driving me crazy.

How much does the whiteness of an agency play into your decision of taking a role? Not saying it’s gotta be all black, but have you ever ruled out a shop because it’s too white?

Been leading the same project for over two years now with a few associates (they only came around at the 1 year mark). Needless to say, incredibly fed up with the client, the work (project is horribly scoped), and the lack of support I get from my PPMD (although he loves my work and has said multiple times he wants me for every project). How do I best approach rolling off (let’s pretend there’s no COVID situation now) without burning bridges?

I prefer Starwood but I'm thinking about getting the Marriott card bc you can xfer the 80,000 Marriott pts to ~26.6K Starwood pts vs 25K Starwood pts. Plus a free Marriott night every year. Thoughts?

Anyones parents absolutely glued to CNN/MSNBC 24/7? Ever since covid happened I realized that 2% of it is actual news/journalism and the rest of the show is "let's pick apart trump" hour. Ironically my parents make fun of Fox News addicts

Have any of you work for pharma companies focused on generic drugs (e.g Teva, Sandoz)? How are they different from branded companies in terms of culture, priorities, etc?

Hi! So a few friends of mine and I want to go to the beach over the week of Labor Day. Like Puerto Rico or Cabo to a hotel or Airbnb. Are the beaches open there? Please save the comments about us disregarding Covid :) we are taking all necessary precautions to stay safe and follow rules :)
