I personally know a few investment folks at Sequoia. From what I’ve heard, it’s much better than consulting firms. If you’re in the investment team, it’s almost like you’re in a “Sales on” mode throughout the week, trying to represent your VC firm to startups. You get to see a lot of decks, live demos, presentations, and weekends can have a little bit of work. When there’s a deal underway, working during the weekends is the norm, but lasts for just a few weekends throughout the year.
You’ll enjoy the job if you’re passionate about startups and the industry you’ll be handling the investments for.
Thanks a lot! :)
