What’s the location? That’s either a high L2 salary or super low L3. It will take you at LEAST 2yrs to move up to the next level, 1.5 at the fastest. The role is quite the grind, targets are getting more unattainable, and it has high attrition. Very much a “jumping off” role, just for people who want to get a foot in the door at Google. Source: am in that role
My initial offer in Chicago for the same role at L3 was $88k base. Your monthly take home will be between $3-5k depending on how much you contribute to retirement, insurance, etc. if you hit your targets then that’s an extra $4-$8k per quarter
Are you aware of the level of the role? If it’s L3 I’d say it’s around the band. Were there any other components of the total compensation ie. Bonus and stock options? Did the recruiter indicate that there’s room for negotiations?
I' not sure of the level of the role- the negotiator mentioned that there isnt much room to negotiate base but there is bonus, commission, and stock options included. She said that with all those they can get me close to my current salary.. not sure if I'd want to jump ship for "close" - I'm defintiely going to try to negotiate but she did say shes never seen anyone get close to my base
You won't move to the next role in the next 2 years at best. Negotiate as much as you can...
Thanks for the insight

Please check messages .
Hi, having my first interview tmr. Any advice you can give out? Also, may I ask why would you consider to take the pay cut for this role? Just because it is Google?
Base pay is a cute but equity and commission make it a similar pay that’s why I consider the role plus the fact it’s Google
Hi I was wondering if I can send you a direct message? I had a few questions regarding this role and the process.
Sure dm me
First interview coming up for this role, who or what determines what band you are in for base pay? Any interview tips anyone can share for the Account Strategist role would be awesome!

Hey, do you remember any of the questions they asked you?
Hi I am currently interviewing for an account strategist role in LA - What is the typical TC (base, bonus & equity) for this role? What about after 2 years?
Base around $100k, 35% bonus, RSU around $30-$40k. TC around $150-$160k annually.
Currently applied to a Account Strategist Mid-market role with a referral from a current google employee. Any one from the new york team currently or in the past that can provide a bit more info on how your experience has been?
