Newbie to investing and never invested in a company that went through a reverse stock split.
In theory, I understand the market value should increase but I’m not seeing this reflected in the price and naturally my book value/ share is very disappointing.
A) When should I anticipate the stock appreciation to occur?
B) What’s the next move for companies that do this? Issue more shares?
TIA!

First off, sorry this happened to you. Thousands were just laid off for reasons unrelated to performance. Your network can’t help you if you don’t ask them to.
Every job I've had was through network contacts. You never know when people are looking for help!
Don't post, don't do the open to work badge. Consider creating a company or freelance role on your profile to bridge the dreaded "gap" if your search takes a while.
I never posted that I was laid off. Unfortunately desperation is implicitly less appealing, as unfair as that is. Focus on one on one communications. I set up calls with a bunch of former coworkers, agency leads and did informational interviews. All through DMs and texts vs the public feed. Got my current role through a cold LinkedIn message to the dept lead.
Agree. I wouldn’t
I honestly don’t think it’s a bad move to post. You were laid off, might as well leverage your network to let them know you are now a free agent. Have some fun with the post. Let people know who you are and what you bring to the table.
I was laid off and literally never told a single interviewer, never said anything on LinkedIn. Got a new job within 2 months and then one year later I got my dream job (and still have never admitted to being laid off 🤷♀️)
I was laid off the week before Christmas but waited until this week to post on Linked In. I received a ton of positive engagement. I recommend posting but NOT using Linked In's lame script if you want to stand out.
For those asking how to approach conversations around being laid off, tell your Interviewers or share in your cover letter. There is no shame (for us) in shitty business decisions that are impacting so many.
That’s tough as I see benefits to both. See what you can swing without announcing and if then things start getting desperate would post about it. Honestly I feel like people are getting fatigue from seeing laid off posts with the “open to work” profile pic template and are skipping over when they see that on pictures.
Rising Star
Let 'em know. No shame in being laid off. Especially now.
Just say you’re looking for your next opportunity. Less is more. When I see people posting about being laid off, or even worse, complaining about the job market or how many applications they’ve submitted, it’s just a turn off. Better to focus on what you’re seeking and what you can bring to your next role.
When interviewing, do you tell recruiters / hiring managers you were laid off? I’m in a similar situation and not sure what the right approach is.
I would and just explain the why. “My agency lost the business I supported” or “my holding company was acquired and reduced x% of the workforce”
Something like that to underscore that it wasn’t performance based
