When in doubt, leave it out.
For a refreshing spin, leave it in.
You do you.
My resume’s already a joke but then again I’m just an intern so
A little personality is good, but humor is subjective. Written humor, even more so. My advice would be to get an open critique from a few people to gauge whether or not it's as funny as intended. Corny, cheesy gags in a resume is a good way to get it shitbinned.
Humor is subjective and best verbally
Whatever, Watson.
In your LinkedIn intro and resume objective, yes. Insert a little personality Everywhere else, get to the point.
Nay
Nope. Put humor in your cover letter if you want but leave it off the resume. I’ve seen too many bad attempts that ruin otherwise great experience
Use it wisely and sparingly, don’t come off like the person who always has to be the funniest guy or gal in the room, at some point that becomes exhausting. Maybe a lighthearted line in your cover letter, maybe something lighthearted about one of your job responsibilities, but don’t beat the person over the head with how “funny” or “irreverent” you are.. That should come through in the work
Don’t listen to these squares. Cram that intro full of one-liners and zingers. People just need a good laugh, you know? You know what they say, get their belly a roaring and you’ll come out soarin’! Go get em hun.
Give us an example of what you're thinking
I’ve kept mine “lighthearted” if that even makes sense, but not straight-up humorous
Don’t try too hard.
Absolutely! It’s a good way to stand out from the crowd
🧐🧐 every body does a little humor...you mean sound like the crowd
I used to keep two versions of my resume: one with a straightforward intro statement and one with something a little more playful, but still tied to account management. And I would just use whichever one made more sense based on what I knew about the shop. But everything else was the same.
Eeeek
Oh yes, I should've clarified, this would be in the "profile" section only.
One funny word goes a long way
Pro boner.
Yay
Whatever your personality is, let it shine.
