I'm not opposed to AI. It's here whether we want it or not, and we've been using it for years. I think with guidance and care AI can be useful
Thanks for posting that! It's interesting, I'm definitely bookmarking it to refer to later. I tend to be a skeptic about AI, in the sense that I really don't believe a lot of the hype. But I think students do need some guidance about it. They need to learn the difference between using it for brainstorming and helping them work better and smarter, or using it to essentially perpetrate plagiarism. Makes no sense to ignore it, it's just a fact of life now.

I agree. Some of my students have been very vocal about their distaste over students using AI to cheat. I am very open and honest with my students when I use AI for anything

This summer I also drafted an AI policy/procedures for my school that includes students and teachers. It’s here to stay, so let’s do something to acknowledge that and work with it!

I absolutely love Brisk for teachers. I like the way it shows the steps a student takes when they are doing an essay. I couple other AI helps I am looking at are Deepl and GPTZero. Has anyone used those?

I have a one student whobis so brilliant his conversation sometimes sounds robotic. It like he is thinking out his words as he talks. He is so advanced in his conversation skills, I think he could outdo AI
