Unfortunately, it’s common, especially in larger firms. Follow up politely after 5–7 business days cuz many hiring managers simply get delayed by approvals or shifting priorities. One to two should be fine. Good luck!

one follow up is appropriate. sadly, if no response, its usually the end of the road

One follow-up is reasonable and professional. If there’s still silence after that, it’s usually a signal the process moved on or is stuck internally. Unfortunately ghosting at the end of processes happens more than it should.
Following up once or twice spaced out is fine, but beyond that it rarely changes the outcome.

Unfortunately based on my own experience as being hired and hiring, if you got the job, they'll let you know sooner than later. It's the 2nd or 3rd best that will have to wait it out for #1
Sadly this is just how things are at the minute. Ghosting has become so completely normal. I usually send two follow-ups, though it is probably a waste of time. If they wanted me, they know how to reach me and would have done so.
