Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I would recommend that you familiarise yourself with your competency and the value you bring. I would also focus on your successes stories - write them out and put them where you can see them- that would boost your confidence so that when you negotiate your salary you know your worth and you refuse to back down. In terms of £££ you can do research to get an idea of your salary range using benchmark data. I did this exercise recently and realised that ai didn’t know my worth professionally and the value I bring hence reason I have been letting lack of confidence get in the way. Always see yourself as an expert in your field. If you can list 2 or 4 success stories using CAR framework focusing on the results this would boost your confidence because you will see on paper your impact and that will boost your confidence. Your salary is a drop in the ocean for your company and knowing your worth based on your impact will help you. Hope this helps! Good luck.

It is like dating. Just keep trying until you find what works.
Doesn't sound like you don't know how to negotiate as much as it sounds like you don't believe in yourself. Maybe consider coaching or therapy around self-esteem first versus negotiation skill building. Those skills will still need a solid foundation from which to be used.
I like your advice.
I know that the Masterclass is about a different kind of negotiation altogether but it still does the job. There's lots to learn from it.. if you have the money for it. I'd highly recommend taking it up.
